Top 5 Wedding Colours for 2017

Top 5 Wedding Colours for 2017

It’s that time of the year again, when the birds are out and we wait with baited anticipation for a sunny weekend. And so it is also that part of the wedding planning when wedding colours are sorted and the groom, best man and ushers ties need to be matched against the bridesmaids dresses, and we get to see what colours the happy couple are trending this year.

And so, on to our top 5 list of wedding colours for 2017…

In no particular order (as Ant & Dec would say…):

1. Peach

Peach continues to be hugely popular after resurging into the top 5 a couple of years ago, as brides and grooms everywhere snap up peach coloured cravats, ties and pocket squares for the entire male section of the wedding party. One thing we have noticed is that lighter peaches and skinny ties are featuring more than previous years.

2. Sage Green

Ah, the good old reliable sage green. It’s been in our top 5 list for the last 2 years, and this year it’s retaining its place as a staunch favourite. It’s not hard to see why, sage is just one of those colours that suits weddings (unintentional pun there…), and looks absolutely brilliant to boot.

3. Light Rose Shantung

Ok, this is cheating a bit as well, but unlike previous years where cerise pink ruled, this year it is clear that the lighter pinks are being more favoured in place of cerise and other darker pinks, and this is something that we haven’t seen for a number of years. Again it’s a traditional wedding colour, and perhaps the only time most men will wear a pink tie, so it’s all good!

4. Ivory

Wedding Colours - Ivory TiesNow I’m not sure if this is strictly allowed, but then this is my list and I make the rules, so I’m going to allow it. You see, a trend we’re seeing now is a mix of colours, and particularly ivory and navy. And we wholeheartedly approve! A common theme seems to be to have the groom in ivory and the rest in navy, so I’m expecting to see that in a lot of Real Weddings photos on wedding blogs in the next few months.

5. Blush

Now blush is becoming a rapidly popular colour over the past few years. For any one thinking of going for a nude colour scheme, this is absolutely the colour you need to look at. Blush is a great colour for those elegant weddings, with an added extra to really make your colour scheme pop! Watch out for this colour, it maybe number 1 next year!

And there you have it! The Top 5 Wedding Colours for 2017. Until next year, then…
