Will Fabio Capello follow George Burley by wearing
an English tie?
The UK’s biggest online tie retailer has challenged
England manager Fabio Capello to follow the example
of new Scotland manager George Burley by publicly wearing
a patriotic English tie.
TieWarehouse.co.uk
has sent one of its silk ties featuring waving English
flags to Capello at the Football Association.
It’s after George Burley wore a blue silk tie
covered in Scottish Saltires when he accepted the Scotland
job last week.
Since then so many Tartan Army fans have bought the
tie from Tie Warehouse that it has sold out.
It’s having emergency supplies delivered at the
end of the week to meet the demand.
Gary Baker from Tie Warehouse said Italian Capello
would benefit from an obvious display of national pride.
He said: “Imagine what a message it would send
to the England fans."
“Fabio Capello said when he accepted the job
that he would learn English, which is going to take
a while to make an impact. But by wearing this tie he
will instantly send a message that he believes in the
country and the team.”
